Stained Glass
Calvary Church Summit is home to one of the few rose windows ever produced by Louis Comfort Tiffany. The “Beatitudes” Rose Window on the rear wall of the nave was installed in 1896.

After a successful capital campaign, Calvary was delighted to restore the 119 year old window. The restoration was completed by internationally renowned stained glass expert Art Femenella. Art started working with stained glass in 1968. He now divides his time between supervising major restoration projects, consulting, lecturing and writing for numerous national magazines. His projects have included works by Louis Comfort Tiffany, John LaFarge, Frank Lloyd Wright, Maitland Armstrong and other artists of equal importance.
Three years in the making, The Windows of Calvary Church, a 97-page coffee-table book, features Calvary’s beautifully crafted stained-glass windows.

“There is a gap between looking at a work of art and seeing everything that is there. When I started the project my goal was to learn what the artist intended to communicate and to digitally restore it to the best possible approximation of what he set out to achieve.” (pp. 90)
